If I Buy A Vehicle At Auction, Will I Have A Lot Of Repairs? And… What If I Want To Return It?
We’d like to answer this 2-part question backwards by first addressing the whether you may return a vehicle after purchase from auction. In-a-nutshell, the answer is "No." If you win an auction, you are required to pay cash for the vehicle that day, and accept it "as-is", "no returns." That’s why it’s always a good idea to take advantage of all opportunities to inspect the vehicle(s) before bidding, as well as keep up on the terms and conditions of any auctions you’re participating in.
Always keep in mind that, although auction vehicles are often great buys, and participating in auctions is great fun… Vehicles offered to you in bidding are in the same condition as they were when attained for the auction. All flaws and/or damages are a… part of the deal.
Having said that… For those beginners who may be lacking in confidence, or anyone interested in relinquishing some of their auction-buying concerns, there are companies who will buy vehicles directly from the auction for you. These companies offer various services such as, estimating the cost of mechanical and/or cosmetic repair/work, handling all detailed inspections of mechanical components, guaranteeing State safety inspections… and more. Some of these companies may even offer auction vehicles still under original
Manufacturer’s warranty… Possibly, a full maintenance plan.
